Croton EMS is proud to recognize two of our younger members, Matthea Schor and Sydney McCabe, for being some of the first in New York State to receive their NYS EMT Certification at the age of 17. In 2018 New York State amended the required age to become a certified EMT from 18 to 17 years of age. Both of these members have been extremely active in Croton EMS since they were 14 years old when they first joined the Explorer Post. Since then, they have both worked their way through the ranks, holding different officer positions within the Explorer Post. At 17 both were extremely eager to enroll in an EMT course, ultimately excelling in the class, passing their practicals and written tests on the first try to becoming cleared EMTs with Croton EMS. Now out there treating patients and serving their community. Congratulations to the both of you on this incredible accomplishment, for setting the stage and becoming amazing role models for many to come.

For anyone interested in joining Croton EMS please go over to the Join our team tab and fill out an application! Remember no experience is necessary we will provide and pay for all training and the minimum age to join is 17.
